    Me too. Yes, they did come loose easier than I expected. I had already sprayed them with a little PB Blaster when I brought the frame home. I expected more of a fight. The crank nuts moved pretty freely. I only had the cut the crank arm because the weld was fat and ugly.

    No, they are original. You can see on on the headtube as well. There are a few bikes back then that had these. I agree about the grease going all over inside thought.

    I'm happy with the outcome of day 1. End result is a semi cleaned frame only that I can now experiment with.

    I remember now that this was rough when I received it. The seller snapped the handlebar stem in half inside the fork and didn't even mention it. Also the nondrive side crank arm had been welded on crooked at some time. I had forgotten that the frame had the grease fittings
