    Burrito/Stretch bikes.

Is anyone building these bikes anymore? Seems they came out strong a while back but haven't seen much since. Looking to build one here soon myself and was hoping to read a few threads. Is there an alt bike forum as a whole that I'm missing?

    Springer fork center bolt size?

I have lost the nut on my springer and need to replace it. It doesn't have to be the acorn but necessarily, just need to get it back secure.

This thing is FUN to ride! Really glad I got the 36 tooth sprocket as well. I'm going to "upgrade" to a pedal brake wheel setup though because my chain would hit where my brake mounts right now.

Here is the update! I've not gone with a banana seat quite yet but I may in the end. This one is a little big and needs to be pushed further back...BUT it is super comfy. It may get me out of the competition but the bike is basically done. I may do some odds and ends along the way.

Okay, I'm back. My bars won't stay painted, plastidip just isn't durable enough. I'll have them powdercoated at some point I guess. I made a video too, check it out.

Bars painted and mounted finally. Still deciding on grips. Think I am going to do paracord like I had mentioned elsewhere. Probably red or grey.

The BMX stem I had will work. I'm trying not to spend too much more other than the seat and tires. I'm thinking about all white tires and a black/white banana with big sissy bar.

I've got one in the garage I'll see if I can't fit. My LBS is pretty bad parts wise and a single shim is a bit silly to order.

This bike has been pure torture parts wise. I thought I had it figured out but now I learn my bars don't fit the stem I found that fit the steer tube which was the wrong size. Apparently it needs 1 inch bars instead of 7/8. Not sure how to remedy this for free or dirt cheap, but I'm open for...

First bike build ever, BMX frame, looking for ideas!

It may be, but I'm fairly sure it has to do with the rust itself. I've got a buddy that did similar on his truck and said it hazed over pretty bad. With the bike being ratty, I'm not too worried about it.

I mixed up the typical vinegar based rusting spray and rusted it a handful of time, maybe 3. It did get rained on once real good as well so that may have helped.

    Mini Science Bike

Make some training wheels and get a little one on there! What a cool build! I'd love to build a custom frame at some point, and my next build IS a 20" "Burrito". What do you use for bending the long radius'? Any tips you can give?

May as well jump in on this one, ya? Building what has come to be a PITA overall but it keeps pulling together better than I thought it would. I've started with some crap Mongoose BMX from Wal-Mart in an attempt to make something fairly cheap and fun to ride. I think fun to ride is about all...

Ya, I thought of the pinstriping. May get that done next month at the truck show. I cleared the rust but it got a little hazy/milky for whatever reason. It isn't a huge deal. If I like how the frame feels riding it, it will probably get stripped and powdered later this year.

First bike build ever, BMX frame, looking for ideas!

I'll start a thread up over that-a-way. I've found a stem on an old bike, so that's a plus! I start work next week if all goes as planned so I am looking for a seatpost and seat, as well as maybe a few items to give the bike some character. I'm thinking about a paracord wrap on the upper frame...

Cool, I'll check it out more in depth, it may or may not fit. This steer tube dilemma is driving me crazy haha.

First bike build ever, BMX frame, looking for ideas!

I really don't know to be honest, I just wanted to build something haha. If I could manage to get everything done, I would think of entering. It won't have a decent seat for a little bit.

First bike build ever, BMX frame, looking for ideas!

Well, what a fun thing to deal with. First my steer tube was too short work with the 1 1/8 adapters so I had to order the longer one. I order it, specifically asking Bicycle Designer if it would work with my setup as they referenced my exact order number with an undoubtedly yet it will work...
