    HEADBADGES

OHP you have one steady hand. Every time I have tried to use a dremel to make letters I end up slipping and cutting off a piece of a letter. Looks great!

    HEADBADGES

Did you use a polished sheet of alum., tape a printed sheet of paper, then engrave through it? Did you use a dremel w/bur or a engraver? Thanks!

    Another Heavy Duti build

I'm thinking I'm going to make my own Shiner head badge too.

    Another Heavy Duti build

I'm really happy with the finish on the cranks just wish the kickstand didn't go so dark. In the sun it has a sort of rainbow look. I'm going to do all the raw metal this way. Last night while working I was drinking a local beer, Shiner Bock. And got the Idea of where I want to take the build...

Bike service rack and tool set help

I've been tossing around the idea of making my own bike service rack after watching this video. But I was thinking of adding another T connector half way up the vertical pipe to add a tool tray and paper towel holder. I also had another idea of using steel T connector butterflied open with...

    Another Heavy Duti build

Here's my Heavy Duti. Picked her up at our last Houston Frankenbike for $50 included an extra wheel set. This is what it looked like when I brought home. Put a temporary saddle on it. Wire wheeled all the rust off the bars, neck, seat post, and seat post clamp. Last night wire wheeled...

Bike service rack and tool set help

Thanks so much for taking the time to share Guys!! I guess I need to tap some shop time an assess what tool I already own that can double duty as bike tools too. The make a list of what I'm missing or what would make the job easier.

Bike service rack and tool set help

I went to our local Frankenbike this past weekend but it was VERY small. But I was still able to find and buy another bike .

Which Park stand did you buy? I can buy this one for $137 but it doesn't look any stronger then some of the imported ones.

Bike service rack and tool set help

I've been looking on Amazon at a few bike service racks and can't decide which one to go with with my limited experience. Same goes for a set of bike tools. Before you say it you get what you pay for but Park tools and stand is not in the budget right now. Plus my thought is if you wear out the...

    Schwinn Heavy Duti

I found this vid on YT I haven't tried it yet but he made it look like I could remove it blind folded. Once I have it off I'll look for either broken or excess ware. After doing a bit of research it looks like the kick stand rotates in a pivot cup. I have a feeling that the cup has worn out...

    Schwinn Heavy Duti

Started cleaning it all up. Took a wire wheel on my angle grinder to the handle bars, neck, seat post, and seat post clamp. I really like how the wire wheel loosened up the pitted rust on the bars. In some spot the finish looks almost hammered. How do you fix a kick stand that goes past the...

    Schwinn Heavy Duti

Went down to our local Frankenbike swap today and found a Schwinn Heavy Duti for $50 with an extra set wheels. I also bought a Wald front basket for $10 from the same guy. The basket even included a dusting of Sulfur for free. This was a retired Plant bike. I'm really digging this frame!

    Schwinn Packard yard sale find

It's all back together again and much smoother and brighter color then before. It even still had the ND oil fill cap.

    HEADBADGES

It is a very cool design. If you plan on doing a lot of them you could get a cheap scroll saw from Harbor Freight along with a bi-metal blade. They also have a 25 piece domed punch set. With that you could raised or embossed badges.

    New Departure Model D Rebuild

I still have a few questions. #1 can you install all the guts either way? #2 I have noticed that my hub is concaved where the disks ride. It's hard to tell but with a straight edge it looks to be about 1/16" to the lowest spot. Is that normal or does my hub have excess wear? #3 my disk stack...
