Ladies Bike Frame - Factory or Bent?

Bent. I loaned my moms old montgomery wards special to a buddy and when it returned it looked just like that. My paint didn't crack either, he said he had been jumping curbs and didn't notice that it bent. The "extra long" kickstand, isn't. That is what happens when the frame bends there and...

Can you post a close-up pic of the woodgrain rims. That sounds really cool. Thanks, and nice bike, Lefty

    Left Side Sprocket

Nope you don't need to remove the kickstand(atleast I didn't have to). The other problems faced are; you can only go backwards unless you convert to a fixie, and then theres the issue of the pedals trying unthread themselves all the time, I think a little loctite would take care of that. Heres...

The Spoken build + some others (updated 6/8/09)

Re: The Spoken build + some others Truely a masterpiece. At first thought, I was thinking "Thats a different way to get a little suspension out of a frame" and then the spokes fill in and I am blown away. If it rides half as nice as it looks, then you got a million dollar ride there. There...

    some of my bikes

How hard were the rims on that black one to build? What size tubing did you use? They are killer. Between this and your other thread, you've got some really nice layouts. Lefty

    Detroit Autorama

Good to see you guys too. We should have started at that end instead of the other, we were too tired (and kids too antsy) to really get to enjoy looking at the displays and talking. I'll see ya at the AA show in April. Lefty

    New start.....

Yep that name fits and has some genuine meaning. If you hadn't had one chosen, I was gonna suggest "Phoenix Rising", seems pretty appropriate too. Lefty

Pic request: Cruisers with 24" front wheel and 26" rear

Dang, I'll just have to let it roll around in my head for a little while longer. Probably just have to break down and buy a set. ooh, ooh, ooh what if you removed just two/three spokes to fit that piece in, weld it, then move to the next one on the other side until you made it all the way...

    Detroit Autorama

Yeah I know, this winter has been a killer for me as I have no way to work on any of my bikes this time of the year. It'll be good to see you guys too, and see everyone elses work. Hot dogs are one of the five main food groups right? Atleast that is what my kids think, lol. See ya around, Lefty

Pic request: Cruisers with 24" front wheel and 26" rear

What part is too thin? the "drum" part of the coaster brake? Being that thin would warpage be an issue? I still dont know anything about welding but I thought it is better to weld two pieces of the same thickness as opposed to different thicknesses. What if I used 1/2" thin walled conduit...

Pic request: Cruisers with 24" front wheel and 26" rear

Joe, that's a cool looking bike. When I imagine riding it, it brings on the kind of giggles that you just can't stop, the kind that start at the core and just radiates from there. Thinking about it reminded me of those old skooters that you needed to hop up and down on the propel you forward...
