Thanks all for your comments. A little more research about the collet nut seat post binder means that it was built in 1936.

I got this off of craigslist. It has a large collet nut at the top of the seatpost, skiptooth bike. This bike is very rough, could not leave it behind. It was being stored outside. I was able to disassemble it this weekend. The rims are straight sided, not hook beads. New departure D rear hub...

Was in Pensacola FL for a few days and got this Schwinn. It was a few miles from were I was staying. ($35.00) It is a bit rusty but has the Shimano 7 spd hub and the Typhoon Cord tires are real nice.

I have one laced into a chrome cruiser rim (Wald?) 26 x 2.125 tires. It is laced 3 cross and the spokes are 10 1/16th.

The rear hub is a black painted New Departure. Thanks.

Thank you deorman. I did a little more dis-assembly of the Flash and noticed that both hubs are painted black.

I traded a 24" Chinese Huffy "Good Vibrations" Cruiser for this at the flea market today. I have it posted in ID this bike forum too. And I picked up the Hollywood at the same place last week.

I did some trading at the local flea market today and got this balloon tire, inch pitch bicycle. I think it looks like a Schwinn? The head badge says it is a AMC FLASH. Any help with identifying this bike would be appreciated. I hope that the pics. will show up.

Hello, I am an old bicycle enthusiast. (I am old and I like old bikes) I grew up in the '60s-70s and was a Schwinn hater. I remember preassembling Schwinn's as a summer job. Now I am collecting the Chicago Schwinn's and my current ride is a '57 Jaguar with 2 speed Bendix. Thank you for this forum.
