    Western Flyer "Pat"

So....I stopped posting about this build when Photobucket got stupid and started charging so much money. Actually even lost interest in working on Pat. Can someone get me up to speed with what's going on now with them? Looks like my photos are visible again?

Made myself a layback seat post today. I guess Pat is starting to look a little boardtrack racer-ish

Package came today. Opened it up and found this... Always liked the looks of these Typhoon sprockets. And I wanted a nice shiny crankset, too. Now lets see how it looks... Yep. That's what I wanted

    Rusty ATL Flyer

LOVE this bike. I spend about every other weekend down in Atlanta. it can get quite hilly down there. A little flatter up here in Nashville, but not much. I chose to go with a 3 speed hub on my bike. But I like these ideas of being motorized! Good luck with your build...I'll definitely be watching!!

    Western Flyer "Pat"

Made a new acquaintance down the road in Murfreesboro at Smoopy's. I'm pretty sure you guys know him :wink1: Anyway, he hooked me up with these Thick Bricks and 24" alloy wheels complete with Shimano 3 speed hub. Finally, Pat is progressing! Of course those fat boys don't come anywhere CLOSE...

    Western Flyer "Pat"

I wish I had taken photos along the way of disassembly and fabrication, but when I start working on something, I'm really not good at stopping and snapping pics. Anyway, here's the frame after removing the top tubes, inverting them, and welding them back into place.

    Western Flyer "Pat"

All the bikes were girls bikes since he only had daughters. One in particular was a Western Flyer. I have no idea when this bike was built, but I was drawn to it right off. I've always had a thing for bikes with twin tube designs and I was able to see a way I could do a sex change on this one. I...

    Western Flyer "Pat"

I was in my uncles barn one day and noticed a couple old bikes rusting away in the corner. Being the lover of old and rusty things I am, I inquired as to what his plans were with these gems. He informed me that they were "garbage" and he just hadn't had a chance to haul them to the scrap yard...

Hello from Nashville. I've been lurking on this forum off and on for many years. Been fooling around with a couple bikes again lately. Thought I'd formally introduce myself and maybe even start a build thread on a particular project some of you might find interesting. I'm not particularly...

    cleophus finally jumped in

I stumbled onto this site about 6 months ago by accident. I'm an old school car guy who hadn't given bikes much thought since my childhood years. I'll just say I was "intrigued". The more I visited the site the more I knew I wanted to be a part of the rat bike community. Well today I finally...
