Hey guys, building a show ground bike for truck shows in the future. I'm looking for ideas as well as help on the build. Not real sure the direction I want to go!

I'm looking for something fun, easy to ride, with little moving parts. Thinking apes for bars but aside from that I have no idea.

Where I'm starting.

Got it almost all down to bare metal. I have to take the cranks off and then I get get the details. I can paint it fully base/clear or something simple. Not sure what I want on this one.

So I'm not sure if I want to go ratty/rusty or painted and chrome or gold. I need ideas and inspiration! If any of you guys have links to cool BMX builds, I would love to see them!

Since you mentioned "Apes", why not do a "Muscle Bike". About 2 years ago I got an incomplete '99 "Dyno" "Zone" from my scrapper. Really just wanted some of the parts for other builds, but I couldn't get myself to scrap the frame. A BMX is just to small for me to ride comfortably, so I turned it into a "Muscle Bike".
This is what a '99 Dyno Zone should look like~~

This is what I came up with

Have Fun and Good Luck with your build~~~~~

Alright I've been looking and I cannot find a pair if forks to work with at all. Can you share what forks you used and what size they are? I need 1 1/8 threadless. The newer forks are all chopper based it seems, and I'm not in the land of cheap bikes to say the least, so if anyone has some suggestions or even extras I'm all ears!

Another neat mod would be to fab a couple of plates to bolt on to the rear drop outs to stretch the rear end out. You'd need a little extra chain too, but the results are cool. With that frame you could almost pulloff a hill climber look.

Carl.

I thought about extending the whole rear section but I really want this one put together so I can ride it. Hopefully in the next week or so that will be where I'm at. I'll ride it a while and get some new hairbrain idea I'm sure. I'm looking to build a 20" burrito with the other two bikes I picked up.

I have a pretty major problem it seems. I guess the cups are how was mentioned elsewhere that the bottom bearing cup is a different size than typical for these lowrider bikes. Also, the fork tube isn't near long enough to thread into the nut because of the adapter. I figured they would make these tubes long enough to fit a number of different bikes but apparently they make them the exact length needed.

Thanks guys. It definitely it becoming what I had hoped for. Gotta get paid again to pick up a few more things to throw it back together. I'm going to plastidip the bars and the crank arms and possibly redo the rims/tires. Think I'm going to go white wall tires when that time comes.
