Tthis bike is part Schwinn stingray and part a lot of other things. I think the frame is a Murray or iffy product? I am not sure. Front tire is legit stingray ack tire is a back stingray slick. Not sure of the rest including The hub?

Definitely a Murray frame, I can't read the serial number.
That would help narrow down a year.

The rest I'm not sure on.

I'm not real familiar with the band hubs, but it might be a kickback.
The frame could be a wildcat, but again not sure.

Try posting in the muscle bike section, you'd probably get a good answer there.
It's definitely a cool bike, great find.

That's a red band kickback hub. Made from 1960-64. Not usually on 20" wheeled bikes, they used a blueband hub for 20" wheels. The redband has a normal and a lower gear, as does the later yellow band kickback after 64. The blueband has a normal and a higher gear, for use on 20" bikes. Someone probably had that hub laced up special, as you probably only see those on 24" or 26" bikes from the 60's.

Yours has smaller chain ring than a Murray would have, and with the gearing of the redband hub, would give you a very low and a near normal gear. Should be easy to pull a wheelie and make quick starts.

Any ideas on the serial
Number -- I can't find anyhknbn that makes sense on that -- no
Letters.

Nothing under the sissy bar mount?
It's almost definitely mid 60's to early 70's? I don't remember when Murray stopped the pointed dropouts.

Nothing else on the drop out -- it hasn't the 502 number twice in there.

Confused about the paint -- I don't think it was redone -- is the color correct?

I'm not sure, usually if the stampings aren't covered its a good sign of original paint.

Very true -- atrang but I am excited about his strange bike -- not sure what is na goons do with it yet -- rebuild to kind of stock or leave it unusual ...

Try out the kickback hub as it is with that setup, you might like it.
