With Mooneyes in the rear view it's time to start on the next custom.

All I know right now is that it's going to be a 26" BMX.

This pictures was right after the angle grinder had its way with the chain guard mounts which are now none existent.

Okay...did you rob a bike store or something?

Haha, I am a firm believer in the right tool for the job since I have broken/damaged a lot of stuff when I don't have the right tool.
Over the years I have gotten tools as I have needed them which has resulted in a lot of park tools. :D

Re: Worksman BMX

Sweet man. I'm building a 26" bmx cruiser out of an 86 mongoose atb. Looking forward to seeing your progress. Oh and I'm a fellow aircooler

Re: Worksman BMX

As my luck would have it I got an email from profile and they do not have the seat post in stock. So I'm now looking at who might have most of what I want in stock so I'm not over paying for shipping form a few different places.

Awesome list of parts! Hate to think what all that will cost though!
Be an awesome bike when done!

Luke.

I have a few of the parts, but most will have to be bought. That's the reason I'm going through my parts stash this weekend to see what I should part with.

OK, so what is that magical piece for?

For this bike I was looking to get a particular fork that would give it the old school 26 bmx look. I was able to locate the fork but unfortunately the steer tube was short by 3/4 of an inch.

Now what I have to do is cut the steer tube press this sleeve in between the to cut pieces and weld it in. The smaller od is a slight press fit into the original steer tube they will also work as centralizers so that steer tube remains straight. I plan on doing a write up on this since I think others could benefit.
