Schwinn - which model?

Hello
Have a Schwinn serial # D5317 . I was told it is a 52 spitfire but can not find in old catalogs. I want to restore it as original but am not sure what the pattern was going from the white into the green. It has a green badge. I also dont think the fenders were supposed to be silver, or even if they were supposed to be painted. Appreciate any help to do this right.

My 53 Schwinn had the same chain guard with that same large sprocket, non chromed. I could never find that combination in the catalog pics. I think mine is a Meteor, it had standard forks and no racks or anything extra. I believe your serial number has another digit, and is it located on the left rear dropout or under the bottom bracket? It might be August of 52. Also, I don't think that's a Schwinn paint job, maybe a repaint someone did with their own design.

Definately a repaint , I think they were trying to copy original colors. I will look for another letter on the drop out.
