not really much of a rat but totally in spirit
I took a pretty nice 1955 American I picked up and cleaned it up and added a prewar Ranger laid back seat post and a brooks saddle

Those rims are clean!!! The seat post w/Brooks is great. Try rotating the bars up like the old Rrb logo.

yea the rims are real nice. at first I assumed they were off of a 67 typhoon I got with this bike and the typhoon had 24" wheels stuck on it but this has a New Departure hub on the rear and a Schwinn script hub on the front so they look to be original. its funny it has 2 bike shop stickers on it. one that looks to be wheb the bike was new. and one that is newer probably when it got new tires and its the same shop name with different locations
this is the first year for the Schwinn middleweights

I really like Schwinn's downtube decals. Both the American and Tiger had great decals. Made the bikes look 10 MPH faster.

sweet american! i have a 62' heavy duti american, and is actually th efirst cruiser i ever got. and being the 2nd oldest i have, is one of the consistantly best riding bikes i have, too.
