So...here we go!
This is my First Schwinn...
When I got it it had The Front Suspension and Re-Chromed ( BEAUTIFUL 50 Tooth ) Elgin Crank and Chainring.

I sold The Multi-Spoke wheels to Armand and Firewalker
gave me a Brand New set of 24's with 2.125 WWW's on em
( Thanks again Mur )

I was going to Run a 24 rear / 26 front but after putting the
24 Pair on I LOVE IT.
This thing goes like a Raped Ape!
with The 50 Tooth Sprocket it is The fastest, most resposive, most Agile
single speed Bike I have EVER Owned.

I will post up Progress Pictures as I go.
here's what she Looked like when I got her....

and here she is with the 24's......she's a Tough looking little Beast that
Rides like a Cadillac and Corners like an Acura NSX.

Progress Pictures as she evolves...

Oh wow! I love the front end on this. The rat trap springer, dropped bars and truss rods are SWEET!

If the Rocketeer rode a bike, this would be it :D

Quick tech question for ya' Kev:

What is the diameter of the truss rods? I'd guess it's about 1/4 - 5/16" or slightly larger? (I'm planning to build some for myself in the near future)

It's EXACTLY 3/8"

I would have thought smaller too...but a 3/8" Open End Wrench fits JUST snug.
I have thought about building some myself,
And I Plan to go to a Napa / Lorco and Use "Power Stearing Line"
it come's in different Lengths that are Flared at The Ends.
You can just Squash er Down in a Vice..drill a Hole..
grind The Flat end to a Round and Curve as desired.

at least that's what MY PLAN was..

Kev.

very, very nice!

I forgot to say the flipped riser bars look good. Halfway between a Boardtracker and something else(normal).

I must correct myself.......What a putz I am....
I got all excited about being a Schwinn Owner.

The Crank and Chainring on my Schwinn here, are a re-Chromed,
Vintage "Shelby" set....not an Elgin Like I have been
saying.

so...The Forks and Chainring / Cranks are Vintage Shelby
Re-Chromed....

My bad......still learnin.
peace,
Kev.
