I RECENTLY PURCHASED A HIAWATHA FRAME, IT HAS THESE FORKS WITH THE SHORT TRUSS RODS AND SMALL BEE HIVE SPRINGS. THE STRANGEST THING IS , IS THAT THE FORKS BOW IN AND SWEEP BACK OUT. IS THIS THE WAY THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE. THE BOW AND THE SWEEP ARE IDENTICAL AND IT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE THEY ARE BENT IN ANYWAY. CAN ANYONE LET ME KNOW WHAT THE HISTORY IS ON THIS STYLE OF FORK.

THANKS!

Late 30's early 40's Cleveland Welding springer fork mounted on their own brand bike (Roadmaster) then on the bikes they manufactured for Montgomery-Wards (Hawthorne), Western Auto (Western Flyer) and Gambles (Hiawatha) and more??? till mid 50's.

1939 CWC catalog (thanks nostalgic.net :D )

The smoothest springer fork I have used, much better than the Schwinn one.
