Picked up an unusual road bike today. Old Huffy Aerowind with flattened aero seat tube and down tube. Early Shimano Positron Adamas AX component group.

Kingfish. Does that bb hardware make for a bb conversion kit to put square taper (3 piece bb) axle in american bb? Someone else parted mine for me, and he said no...?

Love the oddball adamas stuff.

On that note.

Ive got one of these super lightweight (20# f/f) aerodynamic huffy aerowind frames in beautiful champagne if anyone thinks they need one.

I really don't remember. If you google it, there are some posts about the BB on bikeforums.net

The heavy Huffy frame itself makes me yawn, but I find the component group downright intriguing. I've worked on a couple of Positrons that used Shimano's old push-pull piano wire actuator, but this one doesn't appear to be so equipped. The center-pull brakes take a lesson from the Odyssey Pitbull playbook. The three-piece BB in a one-piece shell has already been mentioned. Even the wacky pedals have potential--this IS Rat Rod Bikes, after all.

If nothing else, I walk away from this post having learned something: common stranded bike cables are called Bowden cables--I can now die fulfilled.

I'll end up parting this one out whenever I get to it.

A very rare bird. The road bike snobs often stripped these clean and scrapped the frames. I have a Coast-To-Coast Aerowind that was resold at a bike shop in Burketsville, Ohio.
