    TRADITIONAL 🅵🅾🅾🅻🅸🅶🅰🅽 - 1930s Elgin Oriole

Just a thought, but before you spend all of the energy forcing those tires into the frame; Have you considered going with a set of tires that will fit the frame instead? Believe me I understand the appeal of those tires (been there, done that) but I had to back out of using them on my X53 for...

Good job on the handlebar patina and the pedal blocks are very cool!

I never get tired of those tires! Looks so brawny! I'm glad the Evanaction didn't work, I liked the beehive better from the start. The narrow rims like @Bike from the Dead suggested might give you enough. The Blackbird frame was probably more narrow than yours. I also used narrow wheels on it.

    UNLIMITED Falstaff's Revenge

I like the rams horns just the way you have them. Just spin the grips around 180° and grip them from underneath. Rock'et like a Robot! :D

Don't forget the downtube (x3) on Bluebird's little sister the Skylark! BTW, those fat tires you've got will tuck into some Mullet fenders quite nicely! :wink1:

Looks great Lee! I can't believe it took so long for the first ride though.:21: I personally do not like the look of a clear coat (especially gloss!) over the original patina. I would recommend a couple of light applications of boiled linseed oil buffed in. To me it gives it a much warmer and...

    TRADITIONAL 🅵🅾🅾🅻🅸🅶🅰🅽 - 1930s Elgin Oriole

Agreed. I've had some very passionate arguments against filing the axels claiming that it is unsafe blablabla. So by that argument, you can only conclude that original smaller axels made to fit the dropouts must also be unsafe! lol My biggest argument however is that axels are much easier to...
