I have never owned or ridden a fixie. I've had the hub for a couple years but only used it as a freewheel so I gave it a try. I have a front brake of course. I took it down the street and it rode fine but is different.
More gadgets to add to the shop. A small press and a thing you attach to your drill to make it a press.

I filed the razor sharp points off the drops, but they are still dangerous. I'm smoothing them out and giving them some paint. They should look like 14kt gold when done.
I needed a third wheel, so I ordered a hub and rim, and scrounged up some spokes. The rim showed up today and I had it laced up in 15 minutes. It's a red rim but it's only 18 bucks and the hub 12 bucks. Same rim as the other two.
