First off I'd like to give a big thanks to all the guys who bought parts from me last week. Otherwise it wouldn't have been possible for me to pick this bike up!! :D

I know most of you don't care about stories, just wanna get down to the bike. But this guy has been holding this bike for me since before Christmas. I found it on craigslist a while back and messaged him and told him I'd buy it and offered to send the money to him until I could get a chance to pick it up. Anyways the bike was a 5hr drive one way to get it. BUT it just so happened that last week my whole family planned a canoe trip on the 11 point river which is only 30min. away from the guy's house. So I messaged him to make sure that he still had the bike and set up a time to look and now she is mineee.

Let me say that considering the age of this bike, it is in amazing condition. It's by far my oldest bike. Any information as far as what model it is would be great and an idea as far as how much it's worth! From the research I've done, They only used the New Departure C model hub from 1927-33. Looks like an Elgin Cardinal but the crank is different. There are marks on the paint where the tank mounts would have been.. bummer that it's missing it.

Thought this reflector was cool, when the headlights hit the lens, the word "STOP" reflects back. Lens is cracked but all there, housing is broken and ratty but I'm going to try to fabricate a new one.

The pan on the seat is wood, and gone, just a few layers of cloth sitting on the rails.

Both original tires. "Giant Chain Tread" no cracks. I guess they're tubeless?

Awesome looking Elgin! Congrats on a cool bike!

I've been told that my Elgin frame is a '28. It has the same diamond pattern on the seat tube that you have and also the same badge. My crank was slightly different though. I do agree you are in the late 20s/early 30s.

When I got it...

nice find! Glad everything worked out for you.
I love the 11 point. We also do the Jacks Fork, a little further north in Missouri. And of course, the Buffalo from Ponka south.
