This question may have been asked before in the past. If so, apologies for asking it again.
I'd like to install a Schwinn style springer fork on my bike. It's an old 26" wheel montain bike that I'm converting to a rat rod style. I see ads all over the internet for repop forks of this style. Question - what is the quality of these forks? Are there some that are better quality than others or are they basically all the same generic make? Is there more flex to a springer fork than a solid fork ie. do you get any wobble or vagueness in the steering?
I also like the look of the Monark style springer fork but have read some less than positive things about them - quality wise. Is there any supplier who is offering a better version of the Monark style - or is "buyer beware"?
Thanks for any input.
