Serial number on JC Higgins

Can anyone help me with the year of this bike?

May we see the bike...not just one dropout? It's a Murray, for sure, with that pronounced spur.

I am showing the bike I bought, it has been modified for sure and I am showing what the bike should look like. The handle bars and seat are not original.

Having a little trouble with this one, there doesn't appear to be any letters at the front of the serial number.

I agree with Falstaff--gotta be right around '63-'64 because Sears abandoned the Higgins name thereafter. Prior to '63, serials were stamped on the bottom bracket shell, rather than the dropout tab. That pretty much narrows it down.

4518, or 45181, is the Sears catalog #. -Adam
