My mom was hard at work again today searching the garage sales for bikes. I got her call at about 12:30. She found a matching set of 1987 Frost White Schwinn Collegiates. They are in excellent condition. They could use a new set of tires, but that is it. they both have a Sturmey Archer 3 speed with coaster brake. The paint has a nice cool iradescent look in the sun. And check out the push button shifter.

And bonus when I showed up to pick them up, the guy had an old Coppertone Schwinn Exerciser in perfect condition. It even has the Schwinn Pulse Monitor that you clip on your earlobe. And it still works. I'm sure the earlobe clip will drive the ladies wild.

Here are a few quick pictures - I haven't even cleaned them up yet and thay look this good

nice goin, have those bikes been touched before ?? and check out those wild fenders !!! BTW that seat on the exerciser is one of the comfiest seats ive had on a bike too.

i bought them from an 81 year old man who bought them new in 1987 and he said they have been hanging in his garage ever since. i forgot to mention that he also gave me the original Owner's manuals for both of them.

To Filp is the plan.

i am just debating on if I should replace the tubes and tires. i paid $25 a peice for them and tubes and tires would probably cost at least that much. i aired up the tires last night and they hold air, but the tires are a little crusty.

So i guess the question is, what do you think I can get for these? and would it be worth replacing the tires?

a matching pair ... is best sold as a pair IMO, id check out how much those coffe and cream schwinns go for (or another comparable bike) and ask half of their cost since theyre in such nice shape, maybe a little more than half if you replaced the tires/tubes. just my opinion

i wanna know if theres any service information out there for these shifters. i have one and i believe some parts are missing because i cant get it to downshift. any information would be helpful.

thumb lever to upshift and press the square button on the top left to go down. they worked pretty good, but are all plastic, so not sure how they would hold up with a lot of use...
