In building my Hootchie Springer fork, I'm trying to determine the best way to set it up.
I see from old photos of vintage boardtrackers that the truss rods are slanted back towards the frame, followed by the axle bolt in the middle and then the fork bolt to the front.
I'm no engineer, but my intuition tells me that placing the truss rods towards the rear absorbs more of the impact? I suppose the ideal place for the rods would be directly in line with the axle, but that would be too unstable to safely ride.
