Found on the ol' craigslist this week. Every once in awhile something worth it still pops up there. Not sure what I'll build out of it yet, I'm open to ideas.

That's a good looking bike. I'm not an expert, but I'd guess that it was manufactured by CWC (Cleveland Welding Company). Looks like a crummy paint job though. If it was mine, I'd see how much of the red I could get off there, as gently as possible with a mind to preserving the original paint underneath. You might want to research the precautions required for lead paint, that stuff has been on for a while.

Matti is right, that looks like a early 50's CWC made Hawthorne. New 26" wheels and tires will work on it. So will repop springers. Here's a 53 CWC frame I had. just the frame, everything else was parts added:
