Any other airbrush artists out there? I just got one for Christmas and have been playing around with it. Maybe we can start a thread were we can share tips and tricks, techniques, and advice. Here is a little of my work. Please understand this is my first time using an airbrush in 6+ years and yes this was done with stencils.

The taillight doesn't even show up till you turn on the lights or brake. Subtle but cool.

My nephew's S-10 Again subtle but cool.

Very subtle, from 5 feet it looks like Grand Theft Auto blood splatter. Any more than 10 feet you really don't even notice it.

Touched up the emblems freehand just for practice and to use the rest of the paint out of the airbrush

Here you'll notice a few skulls that are a positive image rather than a negative image. My stencil was getting a little wet and I accidentally slapped it upside down to do a reversed skull not thinking and when I lifted it it made an almost perfect reversed skull that was filled in so I repeated this a few more times with good results.

My favorite touch by far was the door handles, got to love the nano stencils.

And I had to add my trademark freehand.

This is the kit I got, the compressed is super quiet but has no gauge for air pressure but with the dual stage airbrush it isn't a problem. Also there is a valve so you can regulate the pressure by feel. Also with the testors kit you can get cans of air that don't make noise at all but gets a bit expensive. Best thing to do is get a refillable air tank like you use for car tires and fill it up, lasts forever when you're just airbrushing. Just make sure to get a water separator and a regulator for air pressure.

Yeah I think I had one like that too back in the day but mine was the super cheap one that used the air cans and came with all kinds of paint. Only used it twice before it broke. Then I had an Iwata airbrush for a while now this one. I have got to say for the money this master setup is awesome. Only differance I see between it and the $300 Iwata I had is the needle adjustment cut outs. Edit just found a picture of one similar to the testors one I had.

Just search for airbrush stencils on amazon or eBay. I personally get mine from amazon but most of my flames I make freehand.

Cool, I know you can get Mylar stencil material on amazon and eBay too. Pretty cheap too. Would be great for some custom stuff.

you can buy it at walmart or other hobbie shops , i want to make some flame stencils & iron cross general lee flag
use the iron cros instead of the regular stars to an ironcros general lee tank on my west coast jessee james chopper bicycle

Sounds cool! This next build off I want to build out my '57 Schwinn again but take it back down to the frame and take it to the next level with custom paint, custom suspension, custom wheels, and attention to detail that will be unheard of.

Common fire stencils are available for downlad via search. Search for chuck bauman true fire stencil. Can get some clear laminate, stick a printout to it, and cut it out with an exacto knife on a cutting board. There are numerous how to's for fire on youtube.

After you paint them a couple times you will end up making your own patterns and stencils to match the curves you like. I added sexier curves into my last set.

where do you get stencils or do you make your own ?
i wann learn to paint flames
You wanna use this stuff called friskett film you can get it at arts and craft stores then you cut out your own stuff and for the flames you would use pin striping you get nice smooth lines that way
