Hi I recently obtained this frame. I was told it is a 1941 Monark frame. The sproket and paint are not original. There is no serial # under the pedals only on the back by the wheel. It is 16000. Any help identifying the frame and or year would be amazing. Thanks

..

im not an expert but the dropstand mounts are on a one year only Schwinn dx i think 37?
it looks like a cool frame.i
don't wanna say Schwinn exactly but id say its close to those frames
hope that helps
Sean

The Schwinn prewar DX was made in '39, '40, and '41 only. The '39 had dropouts like your frame but also had a straight down tube. The '40 and '41 had a curved down tube but the dropouts like yours were eliminated by then. It could be a '40 with left over '39 dropouts, except the serial would be on BB. Small letter size on stamping on your dropout does not look like any prewar Schwinn I've ever seen, and in the wrong place.
I'd say not a Schwinn but made very similar. Gary

Looks like a pre-WWII Monark to me. Chainring could be orig, crank looks like it might be replacement and a little bent.
