Crooked tires are cool, most swingaxle bugs that are lowered have this stance, they have done it since the 50's. I have a few and they drive fine.

My son wanted to do that exact thing, fix up a Western Flyer X-53 and put a motor on it. After he had the X together he decided he liked it too much to risk dropping it with the motor... So we dug up a frame from the garbage heap. Here are the bikes, the X-53 is in the background, the huffy...

I just finished mine and my son's gassers. His is a no name 24 inch ten speed with MTB wheels, mine is a 26 inch huffy.

After deciding against putting a motor on my Son's X-53 we set out to build a bike that we could run through the wringers I found an 80's era ten, and a mix match of parts later we have this. Next comes the motor and then the fun happens.

I say give it a shot, who cares what anyone else thinks. Its YOUR bike have fun with it. Just be sure to keep a little bit of safety in mind and wear goggles.

Usually its two "left" feet. Cool idea :D

I need some inspiration, thinking of ditching the fat tires for some skinnys. I found a free spirit with 26 inch wheels and a nice little 3 speed hub that I am grooving on. Anyone here have some pictures of a barebones on skinny tires?

Dumb question I picked up a 26 incher with a shimano 3 speed hub that I want to use and I want to lace it to a 26 inch MTB rim. Can I reuse the 26 inch (Schwinn) spokes on the MTB rim? The rims are different diameters by 1/2 to 3/4 inch. Who knew? It seems like I could just add a little...
