Last minute entry - Name Undecided

Hey guys!I haven't been on in a few weeks, and when I logged on, I noticed that the build-off ends tomorrow! So this is my last minute entry. I have a Hawthorne Duralium frame, and I want to build a racing style bike with it. I haven't decided a name, but I'll figure that out soon. I want to add...

    Flea Market Elgin!

I got down to the flea market late today, and I didn't think that I would find anything, but I was wrong! This guy had a girls Elgin for $50  . I couldn't pass it up! I'm pretty sure it was repainted, but it looks really nice. The tires are even really old, and only have a little bit of...

    The slight-weight

This bike was a project bike I was working on back in February, but it slowly sunk into the endless pit in the back of the garage, and parts for it were taken for other things. But over the weekend, I pulled the frame out and shot a quick rattle-can paint job (flat black, of course 8) ), and I...

Look what came in the mail today!

It's a Hawthorne Duralium frame, made by Monark, and it's aluminum :D . Does anybody know how to date these? The serial number is 13613. I'm thinking this would be great in the rat rod build-off 8) .

I got a flyer for this at the last swap meet I went to. Its on the same date as the swap meet in Dayton, but it is a lot closer for me. I was...

    The Slight-Weight

I bought a JC Pennys Slight-Weight really cheap at Rapp's swap meet a week ago, and I was itching to build something, so I threw this together 8) : The forks, stem, and seat are from a Schwinn traveler, and the handlebars are from a kids bike, I think. It still needs a lot of work. I have an...

    More Bikes...

Today I went to Rapp's bike swap meet in Butler Pa. I came back with these... I really like the Murray Meteor flite. I put some air in the tires, and rode it down the street and it rides pretty good. I have no clue what the red bike is. It has a three piece crank, rear-facing dropouts...

    New "scout" seat

Just picked up this "Scout" seat on the 'bay. I couldn't pass it up! I just have to find something to put it on! The leather is pretty hard. Is there something I can use (leather conditioner?) to soften the leather? Anybody have any experience with this?

    New Rides!!!

Scored these at a flea market a few weeks ago, and finally got around to posting them. A 24" AMF Avenger 324 with a SA 3 speed. I hadn't cleaned the bike before the picture, but there are just a few rust spots where the paint chipped. It just needs eight spokes in the back wheel. Don't ask me...

    New guy from PA

Hey everybody. I've been lurking for a few weeks, and decided I'd join. This looks like an awesome community. My name is Tom and I'm from Pennsylvania. I haven't built a rat bike yet, but plan on doing so  . Here are my bikes: My daily rider, a (somewhat) restored Flightliner A 1963...
