anyone know what chicago schwinns have a longer wheelbase? im looking to build a vintage frame new component touring bike i need a frame with a long wheel base to keep it lower to the ground. thanks for any help. -Blake C

new to road bikes and parts! i want to put together a touring bike with an old lightweight frame (speedster,varsity, suburban) i was wondering what i would need to do to fit a road bike fork to a lightweight? maybe somebody with a fixie has done this?

did i mention im running a 44-16 gear ratio, it really is a speedster (luckily i live in a flat area)

ha yea, thanks again for the good deal rob! luckily most of the parts were there i had some bmx pedals and had already sprayed the wheels and had the white tires laying around, and some mountain bike bars i took a couple inches off. krylon goes on quick also! thanks for all the good feedback fellas!

24" 1951 schwinn spitfire. hits jumps, does wheelies, and gets ridden to work everyday. with the occasional "that bike is to small for you"

i figure this is the best place to ask.. schwinn forum guys have no hope in this! anyone done this? is it possible with maybe putting a 3piece crank and arm stronging the rear drops a bit? seems like it would look awesome. just not sure how heavy the modifications would be.. -Blake
