Built this up using Raleigh wheels and bottom bracket. Mongoose stem. Giant 5 speed derauiler and cassette. Added 3 inches to the seat stem. Disc brakes both ends.

I have sleeved the 1" cups before .. see photos. The riser spacers used for a threadless 1 1/8 stems are a good donor source for the parts.........I have found some with the perfect size OD and only had to machine out the ID.

Make and weld a bracket like this or use clamp ons for canti's.

My vintage Schwinn drum brakes barely work. I have no experience with drum brakes, but the concept is simple. I have installed new cable and brake shoes. Drum had some interior corrosion but not to bad. Performance is lousy> any suggections?

I machine my own rear brake brackets. I use vintage cuff links to add a little custom touch to the brackets. I bust off the clip part and use the show piece of the cuff link inserted into the clamp. Cuff links are cheap!

I fabricate my own and weld them to the bars to fit each build. This one is only tack welded.

I extended the wheelbase with some adapters I machined and welded to the frame. Moving the tire back to accomodate the 2.5's.
