Bike from the Dead's Freshly-Exhumed Finds (Everything I've dug up since 6/15/21)

I drove through Tulsa 30 years ago (on the way to Chicago) and made a mental note to go back and spend some time there. Beautiful country - especially for someone who has spent his whole life in the dustier parts of Texas. But I haven't made it back yet.

Here's a crappy photo for the time being. I'll grab some better pics of the frame and wheels this evening. I agree - this frame has great lines. Here's the ad where I found it. I bought if for a blog post on how to build a $100 klunker (and possibly for BO 19.)

No spokes or hubs at all, and it came with good tires and tubes that hold air.

The Texas Ranger bike is not sticking around - I have a neighbor that is an actual Texas Ranger and is a Texas Ranger history buff. His wife is buying it to surprise him by hanging it in his man cave.

I just can't figure out how to tighten the wooden spokes!

I watched an ad for a Yard Art Western Flyer start at $75 and drop to $50 then $40 then $30. I went to pick it up last night and ended up with two more. I thought I'd share them here.

What an amazing cool old shop - is that in Broken Arrow?

What have you been riding lately?

It looks like it came with the bike from the factory. Well done!

What have you been riding lately?

    I'm digging the weathered headbadge!

What have you been riding lately?

Do they make a dropper post for that thing?

Parts Bin Schwinn No. 1: Postwar Straight Bar

Dang, it's fun watching all these mock-ups!

    Cockpit shots only

Will reverse cockpit work? I snapped this one on a trail ride this morning. (The trusty old Huffy Santa Fe II)

    Fork and stem help?

Sweet HD - love the yellow-walls on it!

24 inch Free Spirit BMX Cruiser (PAUSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE)

It's turning into a cool machine - may your fortunes reverse quickly so you can get back to it (and have some peace of mind)!

    Motorcycle-style headlight, anyone?

This one was 9.99 on Amazon. Just run a 48v line into one pair and get 12v out of the other. It may even fit in the headlight bucket.

    Motorcycle-style headlight, anyone?

You can pick up 48 volt dc to 12 volt dc converters that are small and cheap. I like running 12 volt bulbs better just because they are easier to find if one goes bad.

Any (west) Texas old bike swap meets or klunker rides coming up this spring? (2023)

Now that spring is upon us... I thought I'd refresh the post.

    Kasual Klunker

That bike is gorgeous - well done!
