    You've got mail!

Having ridden the bike for a few months I've decided to re-work it a little. First thing that has to go is the seat, as it's horribly uncomfortable! I've also decided to tone the colour scheme down. I regularly use the bike to go fishing, and it stands out like a sore thumb on the river bank...

Thanks man! That basket comes in really handy. Discovered yesterday it's strong enough to carry my 4 year old daughter. She hurt her foot, so I stuck her in the basket and pushed her home :D

Haven't done much on the bike lately, but managed to get the wheels on the trailer and hitch it up for a test round the garden.

The patient's recovering well from her impromptu surgery! Still need to figure out what to do with the seat though!

Thanks 12gaugesage! I like to think of it as my "muscular shopper" :D I thought I'd have a look at the seat again today whilst the paint was drying on the trailer. I then somehow got sidetracked and ended up welding a pair of top tubes into the frame. Made a bit of a mess of my dubious paint...

Hmm, lava lamp is tempting! I'm in two minds with the sissy bar now. The seat arrived but the holes don't come close the the current bar - they're way too far forward. I also realised the bar doesn't get in the way if I just take the bike out of the garage backwards (rather than trying to turn...

    You've got mail!

I've been having a little re-think on the seat/sissy combo. I spotted this for sale fairly cheap, and currently waiting for it to arrive: Might save me the trouble of making another one if it looks ok on the bike. Whilst I'm at it I think I might shorten the sissy bar as the current one makes...

Still haven't finished the seat yet... I got sidetracked at the weekend and started making a kid trailer to go with it :D To give credit where it's due, it's heavily inspired by (or rather a blatant rip off of!) an instructables project I found...

Lets See Those 26" BMX Styled Cruiser Builds

Here's one I threw together at the weekend: Started as a 90's Raleigh Max Cromo I picked up last week for £20 :)

    You've got mail!

The weather was looking good for the weekend, and I was getting desperate to take her out for a test ride, so I quickly knocked up a temporary seat on Friday night. I want the final seat to have a backrest too, but this will do for now. I took her on a little trip to the local supermarket...

Nearly done, just the seat and a few odds and ends left. Want to get it finished soon, already started buying bits for the next build :D

Slow progress... Finalised the bars now. Had to tone down / turn down the horns to make it rideable. I still like them though.

Yes, that's me. Well spotted, I am in the uk, near to Cambridge. Good to see another MASer on here!

That looks awesome Luke! My first attempt resulted in a snapped piece of plywood... I'll try again!

    You've got mail!

Haven't made a huge amount of progress recently, but started on the sissy bar and seat. This is my dubious cardboard mock up. I'm not quite sure how to fabricate the real thing yet. My original idea was a plywood base covered with foam, but I'm not sure that's going to work now. Anyone have any...

    You've got mail!

Thanks all. I hadn't really thought about making a frame from scratch, but you've got me thinking now. I could probably give it a go, but I doubt it'd be straight, and it certainly wouldn't be neat! The stuff I do tends to look ok from several feet away, but doesn't tend to stand up to close...

I've been playing with the MIG welder today :) Not finished yet, but here's a little teaser:
