    I'm thinking Elgin?

Yeah it's a great story. He got the Chevy after he got out of the military. The Chevy was sold off years ago and Michelle's dad got the bikes out of the barn in 2001. We have them both rolling again. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

    I'm thinking Elgin?

You're welcome. We have 4 balloon tire bikes. A 52 and 55 Western Flyer jet tank bikes, and a 53 and 56 J.C Higgins, all Murray made. It took me a while to find the serial number info, but once I did, I must be correct. The 52 was bought new by my wife's great Uncle Fred. He bought a 49 Chevy...

    I'm thinking Elgin?

Good looking bike! It looks very similar to my wife's 53 J.C Higgins. It's a Murray made frame. Look on the bottom of the crank housing for the serial numbers. If it has MO? stamped in it,then you have a Murray Ohio frame. The third letter tells the year. R is 52, S is 53 and so on. It should...

    Too Cool for School

Thanks. They wouldn't look right on just anything, but I knew that would work on this old rat. Check out my Western Flyer jet tank bike. It's on another post called Jeff and Michelle's bikes. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

    Michelle's Hummingbird Higgins

It's a 53 J.C Higgins that belonged to her great Uncle Fred. It's come a long way from the rusty unrideable heap that it was. She did a lot of the work. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

    Too Cool for School

I got it on Ebay. It's made by a company in Colorado named Avidmax. It's official name is exercise bike seat. They are about $45 and yes you can ride all day. I know it's not period correct, but I can't deal with the old seats. Worth every penny! Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

The whole fan damily with chainguards.

52 Western Flyer up front, 55 WF, 53 Higgins, and 56 Higgins springer. The 52 was bought by my wife's great Uncle Fred brand new. He didn't drive too good. When he got to old to swing his leg over the Flyer, he bought the 53 Higgins girl bike. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
