    I love the well built pre-70's bicycles for both the design and construction. I can't pass up a cantilever frame and those delightfully smooth welds on the head tube, so Chicago Schwinns are my trip although I have obtained a Sears and an Evans along the way.

    Is green & white striped cable housing original?

    I have a 1954 (released 55) Schwinn Tiger that I'd like to keep pretty stock. I have seen '55 Tigers with a thick green and white striped housing, but don't see it in the catalogs. Does anyone know what the stock housing was like?
