Here is the 1970 Stingray Deluxe I picked up a few weeks ago with one of my friends (also a member here) We split the cost and bought 2 identical bikes. One being a January '70 and one being a December '69. Mine being the 70. So far, i've really been just cleaning bits up, repacking bearings...

Finally got mine to a presentable state! Rear wheel has yet to be cleaned, but the tires are fresh!

You sure? As far as my mind can tell it seems like it would move just as normal bike would..

Sup! I'm the friend. Me and Kulprit split these 2 bikes, bother were identical stingray deluxes, one being a 69, and one being a 70. I really think the 2 bikes will clean up VERY well. with some elbow grease. My original tubes are holding air, and i've already taken mine up and down the driveway...

Another dubber! Wicked. Nice mk3 you got there. Is yours actually windsor? rare-ish color! Although, it cant stand up to the rarity of my watercooled vw. Oh and, I like where this bike is going, cant wait to see what it turns out like!

Oddly enough, its all covered in this weird light green paint. Still no numbers to be found on the head tube with a bit of sanding. This may just be my mystery year bike. I got it as bare frame and kick stand. nothing else... When in doubt, rat it!

I'd build it with some off round, rusty wheels. Just to be able to ride something really sketchy when you want that sort of excitement back, ya know?

Ignore the other parts that were hap-hazardly thrown on right after I picked it up, its just a mock up. Right? I mean I..... It all just seems so schwinn...

Making the assumption that you're talking about the second picture (the unknown bike) The first picture is not of the same bike. The first picture is a schwinn frame I am almost certain, and I'll get another picture of it later. I just cant figure out what the ugly second one is.

Oh yeah, its all brazed and appears to be proper schwinn quality. Of course I've been wrong before...

That makes me think, mid to late seventies stingray. Wish there was some original paint... its been blasted and painted silver many years ago. also, this bike came in the same lot, cant figure out what it is... I want to think its a custom bike. Really awkward size tubes and bends. Looks japan...

Just started listening to them! Great for bike rides in my opinion. Keep me filled with energy the whole ride.

Does it not annoy anybody else that these bikes come with hand brakes on painted rims? Maybe its just from a bike-restore-er? perspective. But the sight of that just pisses me off! LOL.
