This is project that happens to coincide with the RRBO. It should be for the MBBO, but it can’t wait, as it’s due for a show in October. So, you’ll have to suffer through a muscle bike build.

The bike is being built to compliment a couple black and gray show cars/trucks. Because of the dark nature of the colors, it has been dubbed Midnight Flash.

Im starting with a Huffy Rail frame.

I have a pretty good idea of what I’m doing for this entire build. I just need to do it.

For the guard I’m going with a Solid Stack. I have a local pinstripe artist that helped me conceptualize the name concept and corresponding artwork for the guard.

But this guard needs a lot of work. They are hard to find, and the physical condition of this is far from smooth. The level of this bike will require something close to perfection, so I have a lot of metal work to do.

Always cool to watch you do your muscle bike magic.

Midnight Flash is a cool name too.

Only suffering will be having to wait to see what you do with this bad boy.

Thrilled to see a CRASH Rail build on the main stage here. Summer build off is always a good time no matter what you bring but I know already this will be a personal favorite for me. Right up there with the big dogs.

Starting to set up some accoutrement. I have this drag fork I built, but haven’t plated.

So since it’s in its raw form, why not add some zest to it? It’s going to get a fender.

Cut and notched a brace from 5/8” CRS. Bent a plate in the form of the fender shape (not pictured) going to cut a chunk out of the brace and weld the plate in there so the fender nestles into the brace. More to come….
