    TRADITIONAL Jumpy

Thanks! Yeah… I LOVE the frame, but those rear drops do have me concerned. I’ve been eyeing parts in my inventory for this bike for several months and as I have a lot of rear wheels and gear options, I think this is the easiest play. The rear hub and thumb shifter is a Shimano 3S, which I...

And I got these bars off of 500 bike Bruce over the winter…. I was going to put them on FYA, but went with a rustier set for that bike as I thought it’d work better. Should work good on the klunker

I got me this nice brown brooks saddle I scored off of Craigslist for cheap a few years ago…. I think this should work ok.

And here is my donor bike. I’d mainly like to salvage the wheels. (rear in particular for the 3 speed) If I can use the BB components, crank and maybe chainring…. That’d be a bonus for the budget. Any input or recommendations, let me know!

    TRADITIONAL Jumpy

So….. here we go! I’m looking to build a klunker out of an old straight bar frame. The build is a little outside my usual as I build a lot of skinny tire bikes. Also, I’ll be ditching my traditional patina salvage and putting some sharp red, white and blue paint on this guy. As I built my...

    TRADITIONAL Raleigh-Up

Definitely love your selection! Can’t wait to follow your build! -the brakes… unfortunately everything on this bike needs special tools or ‘replaced stem-to-stern’

    Peugeot pounder

That’s ok! I really appreciate it! I was going to ride this thing hard and fast as-is. -besides tires. I’ll still probably keep the thing, but I’ll just use it for bombing around the neighborhood or casual lake rides with the wife! I was surprised at how Light it is and that messenger seat...

    Peugeot pounder

Thanks so much for the heads up on this thing!!!!! I’ll put some mods on it before I flog it!

Hit it with naval jelly and high power pressure wash. Tweaked the seat…. Rides ok. Rear brake is fussy, but other than that, rides fine. Tires look nice but are pretty dry rotted. Last pic (in my outdoor and Rough right now shop) is soaked in wd40

    Peugeot pounder

Here we go: got this thing for a song. I was originally thinking I’d bomb around on it, but it feels super light and fast. Gonna scrub this up, put on some fresh rubber, tune it and rip! As I’m getting older, I may swap out the bars for something more upright and comfortable. Here’s the...

    Jude's finds

Thanks @Wildcat ! So….. I dig what you’re saying, but I just don’t have the time for that! I’ll hit it with some naval jelly, a super scrub and put new tires on it, but this thing actually feels super light and fast, so, I just want to get it comfortable and ready to rip around the lake...

    Jude's finds

I actually got this bike late last fall: a friend from Syracuse Classic Bikes scored this from someone’s trash and knew I did skinny bikes…. He gave to me. -he actually drove it to my house and I couldn’t just take it so I threw him a $10 spot and said have a drink on me! This thing is all...

Anybody sniffing BO 19 in the air?

Thanks OJ. Got a lot of ideas. Regular Klunker w/ single speed. ‘Skinny Klunk’’ w/ gears…. Need to figure something on brakes keeping the original fork. Not sure what to do in the back. It’ll be an adventure.
