Thanks a lot for these answers!
It'd be nice to have some kind of suspension - the bicycle roads here in Stockholm often leave a lot to be desired sadly. I guess I'll have to go without; like you said DougC, the torque should just compress the suspension. Maybe on my next bike.. =)
Well, what I had in mind is a Monark style springer like this one here:

The dropouts on those babies don't look too thick though.. :(
Here's what the bike looks like atm:
Thanks so much for all the kind words, much appreciated! :)
So I mounted the basket this afternoon, turned out so-so. Thinking about cutting it down a little.
Here's what it looks like atm (Findus saw I was about to take a pic - the little guy loves being in pics.. the egos of my cats....) :
That's true - but then, Holland is such a bicycleloving country. Sweden, not so very much.. :/
As for the motor - I wouldn't want to have to ride 36 km each day without it :) (at least, not a cruiser anyway.. :) )
Well, this one might very well get disqualified, it's cost me an arm and a leg so far and I've also altered the frame... :)
Living in Sweden, a country where there's just no cruiser history to speak of, I've had to import a lot - mostly from Germany and Holland, but sometimes from the US even...
Hey everyone!
I've heard that a springer fork and a wheel with an electric motor on isn't a very good idea... but I don't understand why not. Could anyone perhaps help shed some light on this?
I'm looking for a pair of really long fenders for my bike (cruiser with 26" wheels). Would anyone be able to point me to a store? I've checked my list of usual suspects, but can't seem to find anything.. :/
Cheers!
Um, China, communist? They're just as capitalistic over there, that's why you see their wares on the shelves. The big difference is that they don't have nearly as much rights to free speech and the like.
Wow, that seat is cool!
Is the tube actually functional in any way, or is it simply there looking awesome?
(Also.. um.. what's a barrel racer? )
Well, after a lot of calling bike shops, I guess it looks like noone carries shims in Sweden :?
So I'm about to make my own. Now, material-wise, I'm thinking I should go with iron, and not aluminum or copper or any such softer metal... right?
