Yep the dropouts! I was a little short on that one, went right over me. Thanks all!

Just picked it up. No badge but looked like a Swhinn spocket. The key in the locking fork had paint on it. Scratch it with my thumb nail "Arnold Schwinn" it says. Numbers puts manufactur date at Jan. 16 to 19, 1953. Got it for the parts but.....

I will put them on something one day. Have at least four projects to do first. These don't seem to be as common like the Elgin and Higgins.

From what I can find I believe that these are Hawthorne about 1948. Just wondering what folks might think they are worth. Not for sale, just trying to figure if I paid to much.

Believe it was made before 1957, thinking 53-56. They wanted $75 and I did not try to talk them down, good tires and fairly good bearings. Sweet!

I would like to get a 7/8" With a bend that is at about 10:00, or a 70 degreeish. Also as tall in height as possible, long horizontal too. Thanks, Andy
