No swirl dip for a while, gotta get all the mechanicals right first. Grip o' the week is cool, little guitars I like em', gonna see if maybe I can find some too. Gotta solve a cable linkage problem... hey cool bike!

Carl.

Thanks Carl. Grips were cheap on ebay like 10 shipped I think. There were some cool tie dye looking ones too that might be right up your alley. They were cult grips I think.

I hope you dip a guitar when you make the pool. The ones I saw online looked pretty cool.

Those grips def have a high cool factor! Guitars and bikes, does it get any better than that?

Thanks OJ. Glad you like them. The red doesn't match the red on the bike but it kind of goes with it. Little more subdued compared to the red glitter.

Did what I think will be the final adjustment on the shift cable. I moved the stop to above the fender mount and just slid the shifter forward instead of trimming the cable casing. I like the shifter farther up. Makes a nice easy reach from the baby apes.

Did some cruisin' today with the '68 Junior.

Might try some different bars on that bike today...He's making me get my Huffy all dusty..:D

Kid likes the dirt, never a bad thing. Bring him to Minnesota this summer for the open house of Back Forty Bikes and we'll ride around The City of Lakes....

Bikes look good together!

Luke.

Thanks Fellas!

I hope mine looks that long when it's done. Yours has a good stretched look!

Thanks CRASH. The Slingshot stagger was a great idea.:D

Still trying to recover from my 8 day in a row work stretch. Got a little bit done this week. I had to take my layback seatpost to work to turn it down on the lathe a bit to fit the Huffy seat tube. I also added a front fender.

Did adjustments on the bottom bracket, rear hub and pedal bearings, shortened the brake cable and raised the rear fender a bit. Shes riding real nice now. I also cut some off of the top of the seat post so the seat is moved forward and down just a bit from this pic.

Looking great, Chad!!!

Thanks Mike.

Haven't been getting updates again.
Looks good Chad, nice job.

Thanks Falstaff. It's easy to lose track. I'm hoping to get caught up this month since I have a somewhat lighter work schedule.

Here are some close up pics of the new fender. Still need to paint the fork bridge.

And a nice blurry pic of the new stance with the layback seat post cut down. I really need to read that photography thread on here some time....and get a real camera.

Super Nice.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Stance is good!

Luke.

Thank you fellow bike enthusiasts...:D

Well as much as I like this long banana seat I just can't get it approved by the bike's namesake...the real Musclepunk...:21:

He says it's too importy and I have to agree. While I do like it and will probably use it at a later time it's just not groovy enough for this build.

Doesn't take long looking at the cool Huffys to figure out the coolest ones have the striped seat on them. This was my original plan. To re-cover a Person's with some striped material. Since this bike is not a 2 -tone I'm going to try and bring out the chrome more with silver + mylar stripes on the red vinyl I already have.

I'm also ditching the idea of the frankenseat and instead I will use minimal padding to get the best look. Then I'll just make a cover that can be used for riding. This vinyl is kind of thin and stiff so it might take me a few trys to get it looking decent but I have a big sheet of it and no more plans for a red bike so I can practice. I've also got a new set of clamps coming. I want to get decent at this seat re-covering but it's not easy.
