Your Columbia's look great!

You've reminded me that I have a couple of projects that I have been sitting on for almost a year while I was distracted with other bike projects. They are a pair of Columbia-built ballooners from 52 and 55, respectively. They were owned by a brother and sister back then and I bought them as a package deal from the family and promised not to split them up. I should get to fixing these up this winter, I am getting anxious to ride them.

can't wait to have these shining again.

This is my Columbia. I was told that the frame is a 1958. It was a pile of rust when I got it, so I tore it down and built it up inspired by Japanese style bobbers. I reupholstered the seat and did the grips myself. Repop Stingray bars and Monark fork, everything else is old junk I shined up. It rolls on 24" MTB tires.

heres a 1950-something I had. Got it for 5 bucks from the scrap/recycle yard. Kinda wish I kept it...

Cool springer, front drum brake...I swapped it for this though.

What does the headbadge say on it?

Just noticed this mixed into the replies. I actually have found out now from the serial number that my bike is a 1942 Westfield Columbia. Wanna buy it? check the classifieds. 8)

Very cool group of bikes. Here is my "raingutter special." It is a 1939 D9 model, Special Streamline Motobike with rare aluminum fenders and curved brace bars. Aluminum was a precious material during WWII making these fenders hard to find. The pic is as found. When I got it, the chrome forks, stem and bars were bent. I was able to straighten the bars but the stem and forks had to go so it now has painted to match forks and a HD Rollfast stem. Since it was no longer a virgin original, and I had the painf, I purchased a repop tank from Memory Lane and painted it to match. I also found a Westfield rack which is close but only temporary till I get the repop rack painted up. Here are the first pics...
