BO15 Wifey’s Wheels

I am building a rat rod for my wife. Last summer I picked up a mid 50’s JC Higgins girls bike. It’s a 24” wheel bike, with a tank and step through.

So far I have completely dissembled the

bike, going through and deciding what to keep, and what to replace. There is some heavy pitting on some of the chrome, so I am prepping for paint. To keep the rat rod feel I am using rattle cans for this project.

Nice bones to start a build with too. If you are going to paint over chrome, I suggest using this adhesion promoter right before you put on the top coat. It will help the paint (or new chrome spray paint) stick to the old chrome which has a very slippery surface. (red can in the middle)

Best thing I ever did for my hobby was build my wife the spaceliner she wanted! I love the murray frames in that style
