I’m running a lot of old 50 - 60+ year old tubes in my bike’s tires and was wondering if that was common. I’ve found that most of the time slow leaks come from the fill valve, but they hold up fine.

Here a few I was testing today.

If it works it works. Local bike shop has people who spend all their work hours inflating tubes and letting them sit to see if they hold air or not.

I trust old tubes more than the dice roll of new ones that seem to often be pre-punctured for your inconvenience. If they hold air, I use them. Being encased within a tire and unfolded, they're not exposed to the UV or ozone that prematurely deteriorates rubber. I don't run high pressure tires on anything, though.
