My buddy and I were talking about old school pedals and we really couldn't think of any "cool" pedals. Were they all just basic ones that came with the bike? Was there any kind of aftermarket for pedals?

Best for me hands down are Hutch Bear Traps with Ti spindles but they are $$$$. Just don't crash or you'll know why they are called bear traps. Several good knock offs though.
i like suntour xc-2s...
and the other suntour bmx pedals...
the xc-pros were cool, but i haven't lucked into any of those- basically the bmx pedal with a flip tab for getting into toe clips...
mks has brought these back, 9/16 only... but in 6 colors!

That's funny, I was looking at that last night. I can't seem to find anything that screams "cruiser". I like the old block pedals, but nice originals are expensive and hard to find and I don't want to run BMX stuff on my old bike if I can avoid it. I may have to start making my own...
