Back to the Big Wave Dave Pump Track today. No pics, just ripping. Some youngster on a new Specialized P3 and I had the place to ourselves for over two hours. He had some good skills. Fun to just hang out and take turns at our own pace.

We demand POV!

Out for a spin on the 29. Still on rehab for the hamstring and it's the only thing I can comfortably ride for a bit

Hit the abandoned golf course inside the "Traditions" neighborhood down from my house for some laps. Some sidewalk surfing, some single track boogie

Out for an ice cream last night. The green Free Spirit Greenbriar was modded out for my g/f, replacing the heavy/janky parts for components that don't weigh a ton and work. Also made it 1x5, using a Shimano stem shifter. She's recovering from a hip surgery and it's her rehab step-through bike. The frame is great, so at $35 initial cost and using parts I had, it was a solid purchase. I had The Bolanator, knowing it would be just a light rehab cruise.

Took out my Penny Saved entry from this past MBBO for a group ride yesterday evening. First time I had this one out for a "real" ride, and it did pretty well.

We had a lot of old Chicago steel show up for this one...

I picked up a similar girls' Free Spirit from Goodwill for something like five bucks. It has a Shimano 3-speed, and the little threaded barrel that connects the shift cable to the bellcrank was missing. I paid more for that part on Fleabay than I did for the rest of the bike. I also replaced the seat, which was a Wal-Mart grade Bell that had some sort of flocked suede-ish covering that was melting off, with something I had laying around. Now my wife and my daughter prefer the Free Spirit to the girls 5-speed Collegiates I set up for them. Apparently it's too much trouble for them to hunt for gears.

16 mile ride along the C&O Canal. I rode the red Tornado (Deliveri), my son rode the black Speedster (my current RRBBO build), and my daughter rode the Ross Mt. Rushmore.

The Tornado has a red band 2-speed on it. It's perfect for this trail.

Switched out the seat on the Speedster for my son; he's not a fan of the old-school ten-speed/BMX seat I had on it.

Yeah, this place was a little creepy. We didn't get much closer than this.

I gotta paint that chain guard black so it doesn't clash so bad with the rest of the bike. I just stuck it on from a bike I was stripping for parts to see if it fit, and it happened to be perfect. But now I gotta match it to the rest of the bike.

Took a ride on the refurbished Rollfast with the kids today. My son rode what was supposed to be “my” Huffy Dragster XL (again) and my daughter rode the Higgy.

The green Rollfast actually looked black in the lighting of this picture!

An old friend from the Land of Fruitians and I went up to the borderlands yesterday evening. When we topped this ridge, the canyon below was lit to the point where I knew pics would not do it justice. I snapped one anyway. We saw a herd of elk right before this point.
