First posts says building done by 10/31 and then a couple weeks to get decent photos.

We should try and get together for photos. 8)

I found a better fitting LED flashlight for the fender Delta light on the dollar table at AutoZone.

That is a perfect fit.

I got some more painting done. Then realized I forgot to strip the chainguard. Ugh.

Let me shed some light on tonight's progress

I decided to leave the chainguard in its old patina. I think it looks good against the dark grey. Some of the original Monark stripes are showing through.

I scratched the front fender attaching a bauble.

I think one more session and I'll have it all assembled.

Thanks Nick. What do you think about the chainguard? Should I paint it?

I like contrasting chainguards. But maybe I should hammer tone it like the cranks, and then it would sort of match the louver tank but contrast the frame and fenders.

I would lean towards painting the guard. I like the idea of it matching the awesome louver tank.
Grips look perfect too! :wink:

getting worried.

lost the chrome triangle dealies for my tank. ok. finish without. I can deal.

bought a seat post from "heavy seat posts guy". Spaced the whole thing and bought wrong size. back up plan. bought 13/16" stock and asked machine shop at work to turn it for me. Got word they're soooo backed up.

Ordered shifter. lost in mail.

Ya buddy.

Painted chainguard. Made stencil for logo. Needs a little touch up.

Then took it for maiden voyage. Headlight is bright. Bike rides nice. It's very solid and quiet.

I got a little done tonight. Hooked the cable to the shifter. I can't decide where to mount it. It will work really well. The old chain has been soaking in Simple Green for days. I hope to get it scrubbed and installed Sunday. I'll decide on location by then and have the "motivation" all set.

I'm going to try and make some triangle things for the tank. If you are familiar with my work, you will know I was able to fab a tank out of aluminum once (check "my second favorite build" in the signature). I think I swing something to look good. I guess you all will decide if I manage.

I'm all done and ready for photos. I can't think of anything else to do to it.

We should take them bar hopping in New Haven.
