I've been contemplating a similar idea for a "vintage load" to strap on to the rear rack on my build. Something period, travel oriented and possibly hollow to stash things in. I'm thinking along the lines of a journel and some rolled maps maybe some type of long wooden box...
I like what you've got going, double stacked headlights with the bottom one a rotary would be awesome.
