Ok I've searched around and can't seem to find an answer to my question. I scored a triple clamp(moto) fork from a friend. Unfortunately the legs taper from 1.25" at the triple trees to 1.5" at the dropout. The 1.25" section is not long enough for my headtube. I want to replace the legs with some straight tube(none swagged) and weld on some dropouts. I found some 4130 tubing but I'm not sure what wall thickness to get. I found from .035"-.250" walled tube. I'd like it to be strong enough to not worry about failure yet stay as light as possible. I'm thinking something between .065 and .095. What is your opinion?
