Did some cutting, fitting, and welding this morning. The only cost so far has been the wheels from Harbor Junk. I like the riveted look of these and they're sturdy, but they all swivel.

To keep the rear wheels from turning side to side I first cut a section out on either side of two of the wheels to make them look like they're stationary wheels, then laid a few beads and clear-coated them.

From the scrap bin I sourced some steel for the bracket to attach the pull handle, cut and fit everything together with some flux welds. Going to paint it next.

More cutting and fitting. I drilled a few speed holes in the bracket also. I remembered I need to fab. up the rear bracket for the tow hitch assembly first before painting anything. Going to mount the wheels next.

Edit: oh yes I did...
Nice try ! I would have tried my self . Would look good with some old school flames and Pinn stripes maybe a set of Douglas karting wheels ! That’s too bad .

OH wait! Check the edit... I DID get it! So now I have two raggedy wagons and a pedal car. The car is crusty but it'll clean up some and I'll be looking into some classic race car paint schemes. I'm thinking this is the project I've been waiting for.

Playing around with the fine print stuff today. I tied down the shift knob and changed out a adjustment handle. I also added a couple of HF lights on rear ended plus an old reflector and handle bumpers.

I also ran across this skull bottle opener at HD.

Well, I have four wheels and mounted but my daughter couldn't care less about this project anymore sadly. I haven't forced her to do anything, she just isn't interested and the further we go Mom's crafts in a box they buy at the store are more appealing than Dad's "stuff" he does out in the shop. Sigh.

Whatever though. I'll finish it. If she wants to paint it that's cool. I started cutting the aluminum sheet metal (22ga.) to fab. up the seat next.

Now on the other hand I'll be fighting some rust. This little Murrey was yard art for awhile.

The wheels are the worst, actually flaking apart. The shine is moisture in the steel.

Here the spine down the middle that supports the whole thing, shows it's rust. Can't call it patina on a frame that helps hold it all together.

So I've got some sanding and priming ahead. Neat little car though, Murrey Fireball.

I saw this old garden tractor hood today. It would have made a great wagon front end. Pricey though.

I think you’re right Carl...
I did a web search for David Bradley Tractor, lots of images out there. Sold by Sears in the 50’s. A few on eBay in various conditions.
I’d be tempted to go back and haul it home if it were about half the price. I can visualize it on the front end of my Wagonator or maybe even a bike. Art Deco even.

Brother, the David Bradley factory was in the town I grew up in. The town I live in now. In fact the town is named Bradley! They're long gone, and the factory that housed them was also a Roper factory for years. They're gone too, but we're still here in Bradley Illinois.
