I just pulled up to the house and thought man it's a shame nobody else is here this looks just like a swap meet. I am cleaning out the garage and found a ton of cool parts I have no use for. A couple cool bicycles I really want to do something with but I will never make time to ride. Then I thought wait, I just need someone to offer me $500 or something ridiculous for my bus and then it will be excactly like a swap meet.

I've only been to one swap meet this year, a BMX Show and Swap a few weeks back. Friday, I was looking up the big three events (for me) that should be left this year...the BMXMUSEUM show and swap in Vancouver, WA...the big fall auto swap meet in Portland, OR...and the vintage bicycle swap (formerly known as the Iron Ranch swap) in Brooks, OR. All three cancelled :mad::mad:. Stupid pandemic.

Man. I even finished my "Get off my lawn" bench today. I am on a roll. That cabinet has been under my bar height bench since I brought it home just being useless and taking up the spot I would rather keep my compressor in.

Plus I haven't been able to see the floor out there unless I close the garage door in five years easy. I can see the floor from here now. Apparently I'll do just about anything to get out of acid washing a few pithy parts. *laughs hysterically

My favorite show finally cancelled. I mean I live in DFW and I totally get it. It's getting around to the actual start making leave town and travel to Dallas plans for a lot of people and it is a brewery that is still looking at draconian mandates for having company. I am not happy about it though.

I am about two Coronas away from organizing Swapapalooza on some private unincorporated property just so I can give away a few trophies and see my favorite bicycle friends
There are some folk on thecabe talking about getting an alternate location for the Iron Ranch swap meet... we'll see.

The only potentially good news, is that the Southern Oregon auto swapmeet was going to be moved from Medford (3.5hrs from me) to Roseburg (2hrs away) for 2020...which made it doable (I've never been to the Southern Oregon swapmeet due to distance). Well, that was cancelled... just found out it has been moved again to an Indian casino 2hrs 20mins away... I'll probably go, late September, as its the only thing to satisfy my junk need this year .

Not gonna lie, I found so much stuff packed away in here I feel like someone passed and left me the rusty family jewels. I miss the people though. I mean I miss all the concourse guys and even the guy that spends an hour wearing me out telling me my crusty bus is worth a fortune and i should call american pickers and that is saying alot.

I'll give you 450 for that bus
Funny story, I paid $300 for it. I had to wrestle it onto the trailer with the back hoe. It wouldn't roll. I chained it to the house and pulled the trailer out from underneath it. As a matter of fact I set two anchor bolts in the driveway too

Coronas? I would have figured a character like you was the type to support the local team first.
That's funny. We were laughing about fast and furious and it made want a Corona. That and the other joke earlier.
"bartender, I'll have a Corona and two hurricanes. Bartender says, "that'll be $20.20"
When I say we" I mean me talking to myself out here because I don't have an event to go to and talk to anyone else.

Strange how popular culture can plant those seeds. I love movies way too much to not watch them because of that, though it admittedly works on me to on occasion.

You bikes are conversation starters, as are what others produce here. Take them out for a ride, preferably where other like-minded people tend to ride. Sure, you are going to have to filter the goobers who try telling you what they think they know, but there will be a few cool riders out there. I had to filter a goober at the pump track yesterday, but a couple of the others who showed up were cool to chat with in-between runs.

Yeah, I was at a small event (music, not bikes) this weekend, hiding in a corner to avoid conversation. Noticed another guy doing the same. I talked with him, and whaddya know, he restos mid ninties steel MTBs for fun! Despite that, we were able to maintain a civil discourse for at least three minutes. Turns out, I miss humans?
