Heat from a torch and pounding with a big ball peen hammer got the results I wanted. I think even overdid it a little.

Putting together the drivetrain. It’s had a number of issues, of course. A bike like this one hasn’t been built out of these parts, getting over those obstacles is necessary to these custom builds. You all know all that. Anyway... here’s a few Kinks I’m working out...

The chain guard mounting bolt is too long in the back, so the chain is hitting it in 5th gear. I’ll hack off a couple of threads and round down the tip.

The chain guard has a myriad of issues that will need to be taken care of with some metal manipulation.

at least I got this cut in right! The rear fender is still just the raw cuts for fitting. I’ll clean all that up before assembly.

The original plan was to match the original color pretty close. A guy in North Carolina who I sold the original bike to, took a piece of it to an auto paint store and they matched the color. He sent a formula. It wasn’t until the day it was supposed to be painted I found out that the formula couldn’t be cross referenced. He needed a code from something well known like PPG. It was too late for that. So I went down to the paint store and matched as best I could to the picture I had to get a code. It’s not as close as I wanted, but it’s pretty good. It’s what I’m obviously sticking with.

Looking at those 2 close together the new color is a lot darker. But I tell you the chip looked almost perfect.

I like that you tilt the bars forward a bit. I think that looks best. Some tilt them back. For some reason I've never liked that, even when I was ten years old and riding muscle bikes for real.

Same. I toyed with the idea of having them a little more vertical, but I like this look better.

That bad boy turned out awesome, Mike! It looks to be almost the exact color of my Foremost.
