Hello everybody

Interested in a valuation for my Sears Screamer bicycle unrestored and mildly restored. Bodywork ugly weld and paint frame and reassemble with full polish of all chrome removing blemishes and scratches. I intend on selling this bike either way.
Thanks

That headtube weld needs to be cut and redone. That bike has had a head on collision that bent the headtube, top tubes, and downtube. Rather than straigtening them out and then welding it, it has basically been welded into place at the wrecked rake angle which is way off from what it should be.

That being said, the rest of the bike is a good bit complete. That is the 3 speed screamer 2 model like the one that I had as a kid. I might be interested if your selling price is reasonable. But the front end of that frame is going to require a total cutaway and rebuild.

If you compare the angle of your headtube to the correct angle, you can see what I am talking about.

Here is what it is supposed to look like. You can see that the headtube is angled about 15 degrees back from perpindicular (90).

Your damaged headtube and frame has pushed back the headtube perpendicular and maybe even a bit beyond perpendicular. It almost looks like the bottom of the headtube is farther back than the top.

You can also see how the top tubes are bent down from the collision still. They are supposed to be straight.

This bike belonged to my BIG brother when we were kids. I definitely see that the head tube is off and angled incorrectly. I am trying to determine a value for this bike as is and a value with repaired head tube. I’m looking for numbers.
Thanks
